iTunes 7.3 Error

Like many, I was getting an error when I updated my iTunes to version 7.3

"The iTunes Library file cannot be saved. An unknown error occurred (-50). "

I applied the fix I found on this site and it seems to have worked.

I didn't have a ton of video podcasts but I deleted them and the error seems to have resolved itself.

Odd that Apple hasn't responded to this error yet though. Bad form...

Apple Safari 3 - Initial Thoughts

Not that Firefox didn't have it eons ago, but still - thank-you, thank-you thank-you to Apple for having tabs that be re-ordered in Safari. It was such a pain not being able to do that before.

There's some things I like about Firefox in terms of features and available browser plug-ins but it's the cleanness of the interface, the .Mac integration and the way the text renders that keeps my on Safari.

A few other new and neat features in there that I'll have to play with to see if I fall in love with, but definitely some good ideas for sure.

It will be very interesting to see a third bigger player in the browser game. I expect it will peel a few points away from both Firefox and IE as it's becomes a more desirable choice now that it's cross-platform.

Deleting Saved Email Addresses / User Profiles in MSN Messenger Login for Mac OS X

A friend of mine signed on to MSN on my computer and their email address was forever etched in the memory of the login box. I didn't see anyway to get rid of the saved profiles inside MSN itself. Not the end of the world - but a little irritating nonetheless.

Here's what I did to start over again.

Go into the "(your user)/Library/Preferences/Microsoft" folder.

There's a file in that folder called "com.microsoft.Messenger.plist" that contains the saved profiles.

I suppose there's some way to delete out the profiles you don't want and keep the ones you do, but I just deleted the entire file, closed & restarted MSN and re-added my profile again.

Messenger recreates the file with the freshly added profile information and you can add the profiles you want to keep.
