Good Commentary on Facebook vs Myspace

The Art of War: Facebook’s Strategic Plan for Ultimate Victory

I'm sure Fox thought they had it made in the shade when they bought Myspace. But things move a little faster than they may be used to and Myspace stopped innovating a long time ago. It's no surprise. Being #1 is a lousy spot to be in when it comes to the internet game. I'd rather be a growing #2 anyday.

Unless Myspace gets serious about innovation faster. Facebook is going to grab the social networking types. Virb is going to grab the music lovers. And on it will go.

Problem with Safari 3 Beta and Pro Tools 7.x

Heads up on this one...

Here's the support article I found tonight that corresponded to my problem - I couldn't get Pro Tools to start up. The icon would just bounce a few times and then stop.

I'm still working on solving this one but here's the link to the article I found on the Digidesign site.

Apple Safari 3 - Initial Thoughts

Not that Firefox didn't have it eons ago, but still - thank-you, thank-you thank-you to Apple for having tabs that be re-ordered in Safari. It was such a pain not being able to do that before.

There's some things I like about Firefox in terms of features and available browser plug-ins but it's the cleanness of the interface, the .Mac integration and the way the text renders that keeps my on Safari.

A few other new and neat features in there that I'll have to play with to see if I fall in love with, but definitely some good ideas for sure.

It will be very interesting to see a third bigger player in the browser game. I expect it will peel a few points away from both Firefox and IE as it's becomes a more desirable choice now that it's cross-platform.

The Machine is Us/ing Us

I watched this video awhile and went back and watched it again today.

Brilliant. I think you'd have to be a little bit 1337 to get all the nuances of this, but it's a good thought piece to Web 2.0 newbies.
